What happened
The 25-year-old was heavily involved in Betis's 2-1 victory over Getafe last weekend, assisting the first goal scored by Isco.
However, his evening ended on a dull note, as he received his first sending off in LALIGA for what was adjudged a reckless challenge.
Luckily for Betis, Antony received the card in injury time, and they only had to hold on for a few minutes. Antony apologised to the fans in the stadium after the final whistle, raising his hands in penance, and they seemed to accept him with an ovation.

Red card repealed
However, for fans watching at home who had the benefit of replay, Antony should not have been sent off, as he made minimal contact with his opposite number.
Betis were expected to appeal the decision, with a significant clash against Real Madrid next on the schedule. They won the appeal, as they announced this morning that the competition’s disciplinary committee have cancelled Antony's suspension.
Before the 2-0 loss at Santiago Bernabeu earlier in the season, Betis avoided defeat against the LALIGA record champions in three consecutive matches.
They would hope to get a result at Benito Villamarin next Saturday to further their European ambition. Real Madrid on the other hand, cannot afford to drop points as they are embroiled in a three-way title race involving Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
