Victor Osimhen has reportedly given Chelsea the green light to seal a deal that will see him move to Stamford Bridge

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has opened up about his willingness to switch Naples for London-based club Chelsea in the summer.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year recently renewed his contract with Napoli but would be willing to sign a pre-contract agreement with Mauricio Pochettino’s side, per Team Talk

Osimhen, who is in camp in Abu Dhabi with the Nigerian team preparing for the African Cup of Nations is ready to sign a pre-contract with Chelsea in January, with a view to make a permanent move in the summer.

Former Nigerian international and Chelsea legend Mikel Obi alongside Ivorian legend Didier Drogba are reportedly the brains behind the scenes who have convinced Victor Osimhen to join the Blues in the summer.

Is Osimhen the answer to Chelsea’s goalscoring problems?

According to Team Talk, Osimhen’s new deal with Napoli includes a reported £112m release clause, which Chelsea are ready to meet.

Chelsea currently sit 10th in the English Premier League, and fans of the London-based club have expressed frustrations with Nicolas Jackson, who currently leads the line, for missing many good chances.

Armando Broja, who is the other striker in Chelsea, has also not covered himself in glory when given the opportunity.

Todd Boehly has been in search of a new and lethal no 9, with Brentford striker Ivan Toney also on Chelsea’s radar.

Will Osimhen’s move to Chelsea change the club's fortunes, or will Chelsea land a player in a position where they desperately need reinforcements? The summer is no longer far away, we can only keep our fingers crossed.
