Napoli manager Luciano Spalleti casts doubt over his continuation at Napoli.

Following reports that Luciano Spalletti's relationship with Napoli's president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has gone cold, the manager has hinted at a future away from the club following the victory against Inter Milan.

The Partenopei boss led them to their first league title in 33 years and in impressive fashion, as they won with games to spare; however, he could be on his way out.

What Spalletti said

The 64-year-old was speaking in the post-match press conference after the 3-1 win over Inter Milan when he spoke about his future.

There are reports suggesting that his relationship with the Napoli hierarchy has fractured and that he is unhappy with the possibility of playing with a weaker squad next season, with Victor Osimhen, Kim Min-Jae and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia linked with moves away from the club.

Spalletti did not explicitly say he was leaving; however, when asked about his future, he said he had decided and suggested he did not think he could continue at an optimum level in the role.

“The matter has been decided, it is not like you change your mind every day. It is a situation that has been brewing for some time,” he said, per GetfootballnewsItaly.

“When you work from morning to night, some matters tend to mature in your mind, because you have to put this spectacle on all the time.

“If you are not convinced that you can give everything that these people deserve, it’s right to think it over. You think it over, you arrive at a conclusion, and then you stick with it. This is not something that rained over all of us from out of nowhere.”

Meanwhile, Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti made the changes after the hour mark, and he decided to take off his star striker Victor Osimhen and replace him with Giovanni Simeone. However, the Nigerian attacker was unhappy with the decision, as he left the pitch seething with rage.
