Onana faces prospect of becoming Third-Choice goalkeeper, still has chance to depart
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana faces the very real prospect of becoming the club's third-choice shot-stopper this season, according to English media reports.
Turkish international Altay Bayındır has started all three of the Red Devils' Premier League matches so far this campaign, while the Cameroonian only featured in the humiliating loss to League Two side Grimsby, where he was deemed culpable for both goals conceded.
On transfer deadline day, Old Trafford also brought in Sen Lamens, a signing reportedly approved by Ruben Amorim and the club's hierarchy, who envision him as the future number one between the sticks.
It is precisely for this reason that Manchester United bosses held a new meeting with Onana, presenting him with these factors and suggesting it would be best for him to seek a new club.
Old Trafford is reportedly open to a loan move, acknowledging that a permanent transfer is unlikely at this stage, but they are not ruling out that possibility either.
Clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, where the transfer window remains open, have reportedly shown interest in Onana.
