It was a lively match day in the Naija Super 8 as newly promoted duo Katsina United and Sporting Lagos battled NPFL top two sides Enyimba International and Remo Stars.

The Naija Super 8 witnessed an explosive matchday as Sporting Lagos and Enyimba clashed on Sunday.

Sporting Lagos returned to their home ground, the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, for the first time since their promotion to the NPFL.

In what became a keenly contested and dramatic encounter at the Onikan Stadium, Sporting came out against their more illustrious opponent unscathed.

Sporting Lagos proved to be a surprise match for the NPFL champions.

Both teams had some key players missing from their team but still produced fireworks, with Enyimba being the most dominant on the day.

However, despite the People’s Elephant having most of the ball, it was the Tech Boys who created the better chances and should have netted at least a goal.

Sporting Lagos missed two sitters, especially in the second half which included a late penalty against the Elephants.

Enyimba who went into the game looking to bounce back from that defeat to Remo Stars in the opener found the newly promoted side a hard nut to crack.

Finidi George’s men struggled to open up the home side who rode on the incredible cheers from their vociferous fans and their vuvuzelas.

In the end, a share of the spoils looked to be a fair result in a game neither side looked like they came to the MJ Arena with their scoring boots.

Here is what the result means for both teams in Group A
