Manchester United has been dealt a transfer blow in their attempts to offload players and raise funds for manager Ruben Amorim.
After their worst-ever Premier League season, Manchester United have been active in the transfer market, securing Matheus Cunha and nearing a deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo. However, they’ve struggled to offload unwanted players.
Their woes deepened as PSV confirmed they won’t sign Tyrell Malacia permanently after his loan spell.

Just six months — Ferdinand claims Arsenal will not win Premier League next season
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has picked the two teams to compete for the Premier League title in the 2025/26 season, snubbing Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.
“On July 1, the tenures of Tyrell Malacia and Rick Karsdorp at PSV will expire,” the Dutch champions stated.
“Tyrell will return to Manchester United after his rental period, while Rick Karsdorp’s expiring contract will not be renewed. PSV announced the arrival of Tyrell on loan from Manchester United on February 4 this year. The 25-year-old made 12 appearances in PSV’s first team. With the club, he captured the first national title of his career.”

Malacia joined United in 2022 for £13 million, marking Erik ten Hag’s first signing. The left-back impressed in his debut season, making 39 appearances and winning the Carabao Cup, but a serious knee injury sidelined him for the entire 2023/24 campaign.
After an 18-month absence, he returned under new manager Rúben Amorim, who soon informed him his time at the club was over.
With one year left on his contract and PSR pressures looming, United must sell Malacia this summer for any feasible price.
