Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring for the Super Eagles with a well-taken penalty, setting the tone for an intense battle on the pitch.

Despite Ghana's resilience, Nigeria extended their lead with a goal from super-sub Ademola Lookman, who made a significant impact after coming off the bench.
