As has become his custom and similar to the 26 penalties taken in the last game against Grimsby, the Portuguese manager refused to watch his countryman's spot-kick, which secured the victory for his team.

"I like to see the reaction of the fans. What will be, will be. At that moment, I felt it was fair for us to win the game. And I didn't think Bruno would miss a second one in a row.

"Thinking about my future? No, I was just thinking that Bruno wouldn't miss," he began, speaking to PLP, as reported by Abola.

"It's three points. If you look at the game, we should have wrapped it up in the first half and controlled the match, but we're fighting until the last minute because of things we overcomplicate.

"Look at the first half, we had so many chances to score. We feel we can control the game. But then a throw-in, a set piece. I just shook my head, because sometimes football is like that," he explained, lamenting the opponent's goals during periods when his team was dominant.

"Now we have two weeks with a lot of opportunities. This was a must-win game, but we have a lot of work to do," he added, showing his focus on getting back to work during the international break to return stronger.
