The Nigeria Football Federation launches Mission X to unite Nigerians worldwide in support of the Super Falcons’ bid for a historic 10th WAFCON title in Morocco.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially launched an ambitious media campaign, Mission X, aimed at uniting Nigerians everywhere behind the Super Falcons.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the football governing body has set its sights on a record-extending 10th Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco next month.

Uniting a Nation for Glory

With nine continental crowns from just 12 editions since the tournament’s inception in 1998, the Super Falcons are Africa’s most decorated women’s national team.

As they prepare to conquer Morocco, the NFF is calling on fans at home and in the diaspora to rally behind the team.

Nigeria's Super Falcons are Africa's best.

The campaign seeks to energise Nigerians, young and old, men and women, from all walks of life, to show their support, whether from Abuja or Casablanca, where the Falcons will play their group matches.

NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, speaking to the NFF in a communique shared, emphasised the importance of collective support:

Ajibade, Super Falcons skipper, speaking to the media.

“We are committed to fully supporting the Super Falcons’ campaign for a 10th continental title, and that is why we are launching the Mission X campaign to sensitize football-loving Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, young and old, in high and low places, and male and female, to also come out and support the team.”

One Team, One Goal, One More Star

The Super Falcons’ legacy is unmatched on the continent. In addition to their WAFCON dominance, they were Africa’s sole representatives at the inaugural FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in 1991 and again in 1995, even before the Africa Cup of Nations adopted its current tournament format.

Dr. Sanusi added:

“We want the Super Falcons to feel the energy of our football-passionate fans everywhere they go, from Abuja to Casablanca, where they will play their group stage matches, and at any other venue they have to play their knockout games in Morocco.”

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau

As the countdown to Morocco begins, Mission X is more than a campaign; it’s a rallying cry.

The Super Falcons are not just chasing another trophy; they’re seeking to inspire a nation and add one more star to their glittering legacy.
