Lionel Messi continues to sprinkle magic dust wherever he goes, and this time, it was on Club World Cup soil.

The Argentine maestro delivered yet another unforgettable moment as Inter Miami came from behind to beat Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto 2-1, securing a historic first win for an MLS club over a European side.

Things did not start well for Inter Miami, who fell behind in the eighth minute after a VAR-confirmed foul allowed Samu Aghehowa to score from the spot.

Porto looked ready to dominate the Group A clash, nearly doubling their lead through Rodrigo Mora and Alan Varela, only for goal-line heroics and the post to deny them.

But Inter Miami came out roaring after halftime. Just two minutes into the second half, Telasco Segovia rifled Marcelo Weigandt’s cross into the roof of the net.

The equaliser rattled Porto, and before they could regroup, Messi stepped up with a jaw-dropping freekick from just outside the box. And just like that, the comeback was complete.

The goal didn’t just win the match for Inter Miami, it also made history. It was Messi’s 50th goal in just 61 appearances for Inter Miami, making him the fastest player to hit that milestone for the club.

It also marked Inter Miami’s first-ever victory over European opposition and the first time any MLS team has beaten a UEFA club in a competitive fixture.
