Neymar believes the Saudi Pro League may be better than Ligue 1

Former Paris Saint Germain forward Neymar has passed judgement on the Suadi Pro League after completing a move to Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal.

Neymar happy with Saudi move

Neymar ended a troublesome spell in France this summer, moving to Al Hilal this summer, and has now come back to bite the hand that fed him previously.

The Brazilian forward was asked whether he regretted his recent move to Saudi Arabia, and he replied that not only was he happy with the move, but he was also of the opinion that the Saudi Pro League was catching up to European leagues.

Neymar compares Ligue 1 to Saudi Pro League

Speaking to L’Equipe, Neymar said, “Football is the same there, the ball is round, like everywhere else. Given the big names that make up the league, maybe this league is better than Ligue 1.

He backed his decision to move, saying outside criticism did not affect him as he is focused on winning titles in Saudi Arabia.

“The training sessions are intense. I am hungry for titles, and I want to win with Al-Hilal. What people say doesn’t matter to me. They said that Ligue 1 was weak, but I suffered the most there. [The Saudi league] is going to be interesting and I’m sure you’re going to watch it.”

Neymar was made one of the highest-paid players in the world thanks to his move to Al Hilal as one of the league’s £784m worth of talent over the summer transfer window.
