Manchester United are making plans to raise transfer funds for Mason Mount as they look to cash in on Dean Henderson and Scott McTominay.

Mount's future at Stamford Bridge is becoming more questionable with the Englishman yet to sign a new contract as he enters the final year of his contract.

According to reports, Mount is Erik Ten Hag's top target for the upcoming summer transfer window, and the United manager wants a deal completed soon.

The England international is valued at around £55 million by United, which is far less than Chelsea's asking price of £85 million and could fund his transfer by selling two of their players.

United looking to sell Henderson and McTominay

Manchester United's move for Mount could be dependent on the sales of Henderson and McTominay in the summer.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils are hopeful Newcastle will make a move for their target from last season after they qualified for the Champions League. They are also willing to offload two players to aid in their pursuit of the Chelsea midfielder.

The Scotland international is a favourite of Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, and the club has shown interest in him both in the January transfer window and last summer.

Henderson's future is also out in the air as he prepares to make his way back from a one-season loan at Nottingham Forest.

United allegedly believes that the money they acquired for Henderson and McTominay will enable them to bid for Mount.

Clubs monitoring Mount situation

Mason Mount's situation at Chelsea has been monitored by other clubs, with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool keen on the midfielder.

The Gunners are also interested in signing Mount as Mikel Arteta looks to build on his team’s second-placed finish this season. However, his price tag might be an issue for Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s interim coach Frank Lampard has said he wants Mount to sign a new contract with the Blues amidst interest from other clubs.

Chelsea will face Manchester United today in the Premier League as both teams prepare to play their outstanding match which was rescheduled.
