Arsenal secured a narrow victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening day of the season.
Both teams came into the game looking for their first win of the season after an impressive preseason performance.
Mikel Arteta’s side made several recuritments this summer, with the likes of Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres and other coming into the side.
Same can be said for Manchester united manager Ruben Amorim who brought in three attacking players this summer. However, they still lost 1-0 at home to the set-pieces king Arsenal.

How it happened
Ruben Amorim gave debuts to Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo while striker Benjamin Sesko was on the bench. On the other hand, Mikel Arteta kept fans happy by naming Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi in the starting line-up, as reported by the BBC.
Manchester United piled pressure on Arsenal in the first 10 minutes and created a few chances, testing David Raya, but it was the set-piece king’s that took the lead.
Arsenal were awarded a corner, which was expertly delivered by Declan Rice. Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayındır misjudged the flight of the ball and, in an attempt to clear it, punched it straight into the path of Ricardo Calafiori, who calmly tapped it into an empty net.
The Red Devils responded by pushing for an equaliser and created a few chances, including one that struck the woodwork. Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya was also called into action, making several important saves.
However, United were unable to convert any of their opportunities, allowing the Gunners to carry their one-goal lead into the half-time break.
The second half saw Man United push further higher up the pitch to pin the Gunners back but they could not find the back of the net, with Arteta’s men stealing a 1-0 victory at fulltime.
