Man United double bid for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui rejected by Bayern Munich

The Red Devils have identified both Bayern Munich stars as a main target in this summer transfer window.

Erik Ten Hag's attempt to strengthen their defence has been accelerated by the foot injury that will keep summer acquisition Leny Yoro out for three months.

Man United have now made a bid for both defenders as they look to strengthen their defence for next season.

Bayern Munich did not deem Manchester United's bid for their star players enough and have rejected their offer.

According to The Athletic, United thought that their combined offer would be sufficient to obtain the objectives, but the Bundesliga's top team turned down their offer.

This has led to some confusion in the camps of the players, with Rafaela Pimenta, the players' agent, being taken aback by the club's seeming shift of position.

Before the summer, it was said that De Ligt and Mazraoui were told they were surplus to needs and that the club would approve any moves if bids were appropriate.

A few weeks ago, Manchester United reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui 

The Old Trafford team's offer to acquire the two players is still unknown, although Bild revealed last week that United's £30 million proposal for De Light was turned down.

Erik ten Hag has openly expressed his team's interest in the player he supervised at Ajax, therefore De Ligt has not accompanied the Bayern team on their pre-season tour.
