The Reds got back to winning ways after their 3-3 draw against Leeds last weekend led to an outburst from Mohamed Salah.

The outburst led to the Egyptian being dropped from the team for their 1-0 win against Inter Milan in the Champions League.

However, they were able to seal a comfortable 2-0 victory over the Seagulls, with Salah returning to the team.

Arne Slot made two changes to the starting eleven that defeated Milan, with Mohamed Salah absent for the fifth consecutive Liverpool match. 

Alexander Isak was also not included, as Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike were brought into the side, with Ekitike leading the attack.

Meanwhile, Brighton made a single alteration, with Jack Hinshelwood replacing Danny Welbeck in their starting lineup, as reported by BBC.

Liverpool scored just 46 seconds after the opening whistle. The goal came from Yankuba Minteh's misplaced clearance, which Joe Gomez headed to Hugo Ekitike, who then beat Bart Verbruggen with a shot on the turn.

As the game went on, Salah was brought in after four games on the bench following an injury to Joe Gomez, who had to go off.

In the second half, Ekitike got his second of the evening, with Salah providing the assist and doubling Liverpool’s lead to give them a huge advantage.

Following his assist for the Reds, made history as the only player to have the highest goal contribution for a single club in Premier League history.

The Reds went on to seal a 2-0 victory over Brighton and move into 6th place on the Premier League table.
