Neymar’e father has released a statement denying reports he made any fresh payments on behalf of convicted rapist, Dani Alves.

Recent reports suggesting that Neymar's family facilitated a €1 million bail payment for Dani Alves, convicted of sexual assault, have been refuted by Neymar Senior.

Pulse Sports earlier reported that the 40-year-old former Barcelona footballer has been granted temporary release from prison if he can pay €1 million euros in bail, while he appeals ahead of the court’s final verdict in the rape case.

In response to speculation regarding their involvement in Alves' legal affairs, Neymar Senior released a statement addressing the matter.

He clarified that while he initially offered support to Alves without any ties to legal proceedings, the situation has evolved since the Spanish courts handed down a conviction.

Neymar Senior's official Instagram page conveyed his stance, stating,

"As everyone knows, at first, I helped Dani Alves, without any link with any lawsuit. In this second moment, in a different situation from the previous one, in which the Spanish Courts have already decided for the conviction, they are speculating and trying to associate my name and my son's with a matter that is no longer up to us today."

He further emphasized, "I hope Daniel finds with his own family all the answers he is looking for. For us, for my family, the matter is over. Period!"
