Ivorian football legend Didier Drogba has congratulated Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala on their success at the CAF Awards 2023.
Victor Osimhen was named CAF Men’s Player of the Year for 2023, while Asisat Oshoala went home with the Women’s version.
Osimhen now becomes the first Nigerian to win the award in 24 years, following Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.

Drogba praises Osimhen, Oshoala
Drogba took to social media to celebrate with the two superstars.
“Long live the new King and Queen of Africa @victorosimhen9 @asisat_oshoala @caf_onlineCongratulations my Nigerian People, we are waiting for you in January @afcon_2023,”
Osimhen was in outstanding form throughout 2023, leading Napoli to a first Scudetto in 33 years, while Oshoala helped Barca Femeni to a clean sweep of all honours.
