Jurgen Klopp said goodbye to Anfield with a win and clean sheet against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite being uninvolved in the final matchday's title challenge between Manchester City and Arsenal, Liverpool put up a solid shift as they beat Wolves 2-0 in Jurgen Klopp's final game manager.

The German tactician announced his departure at the end of the season months ago, and Liverpool have already secured his replacement in Arne Slot.

Although the Reds could not manage to clinch the quadruple that was possible at the time of Klopp's announcement, they ended the tenure with a win against 10-man Wolves thanks to goals from Alexi Mac Allister and Jarrel Quansah.

How it happened

The atmosphere was electric as the Anfield faithful sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" ahead of kick-off, setting the stage for an intense encounter.

Liverpool, spurred by the high emotions, dominated possession early on. However, Wolves soon found their footing in the game and started to threaten via counterattacks, creating several chances

Wolves were, however, hit with a disadvantage, as Nelson Semedo was shown a straight red card following a late challenge on Alexis Mac Allister in the 28th minute. Six minutes later, Mac Allister broke the deadlock, nodding in from Harvey Elliot's cross to give Liverpool the lead. The Reds doubled their advantage before halftime, with Mohamed Salah's effort deflecting into the path of Jarell Quansah, who found the back of the net.

Liverpool continued to press after the break, with Cody Gakpo and Salah both coming close to extending the lead. Despite their dominance, Klopp's side failed to find the back of the net again but secured a comfortable victory nonetheless.

With this win, Klopp ended his tenure at Liverpool on a high note, becoming the first manager in recent history to secure a victory in his final match. While the Reds may have only secured one trophy this season, their performance was a fitting tribute to Klopp's successful reign
