Mourinho's frustration boiled over as he walked up behind Buruk and pinched the Galatasaray coach's nose, sending him tumbling to the ground.
This shocking moment sparked chaos, with players and staff from both teams rushing in to confront each other. The intense rivalry between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray was palpable, with tensions running high throughout the match.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) initially considered a harsher punishment, potentially suspending Mourinho for five to ten matches.
However, they ultimately reduced the ban to three matches, taking into account that Buruk had initially provoked Mourinho. The Fenerbahce manager has also been fined approximately £6,000 for his "unsportsmanlike behaviour."
The incident marks the second time in 2025 that Mourinho has faced disciplinary action. I
In February, he received a four-match suspension for making racist comments about Galatasaray bench, referring to them as "jumping like monkeys".
