Former Simba Sports Club coach Sven Vandenbroeck's romance with African football is set to continue after he was appointed by Wydad Casablanca.
It will be the fourth stint in Africa for the Belgian tactician, having coached Joash Onyango's Simba, ASFAR of Morocco as well as Zambia and Cameroon national teams.
Vandenbroeck has also coached in Greece and Saudi Arabia and replaces Juan Carlos Garrido, who was fired on Friday despite guiding Wydad to the CAF Champions League last four.
The 43-year-old gaffer was in charge of Simba between 2019 and 2021, a position he had taken following the sacking of current AFC Leopards coach Patrick Aussems.

Vandenbroeck was shown the door after it was alleged that he had lost control of the dressing room, as most players were uncomfortable working with him after a public rant against captain John Bocco.
Tanzanian publication Mwanaspoti then reported that the tactician needed a better working relationship with his assistants.
While at Msimbazi Reds, Vandenbroeck guided the club to the 2020-21 Champions League group stages with a first-round aggregate victory against Zimbabwe's FC Platinum.
He also won the Tanzanian Premier League, FA Cup, and Community Shield. He joined the club in December 2019 following a disastrous spell in Zambia as their national team coach.
