Kieran Tierney made his first start for Arsenal since the 2023 Community Shield. He came in as one of eight changes along with Thomas Partey, Jakub Kiwior, Jorginho, Ethan Nwaneri, Raheem Sterling, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus.

Caleb Kporha made his first start for Crystal Palace. The 18-year-old defender came in for suspended Daniel Munoz at right wing-back in the only change for the Eagles.

Just five minutes into the game, Crystal Palace hit first from a long ball as Jakub Kiwior was nudged aside by Jean-Philippe Mateta, who strode into the box and sidefooted home.

Arsenal pushed for the equaliser but could not break down the Palace defence line all through the first half.

Palace got another goal to reduce the deficit to just one goal and put pressure on Arsenal with just a few minutes remaining.
