Super Falcons coach Justin Madugu declares "Mission X" to win a historic 10th WAFCON title in 2025 is achievable after a 2-0 friendly win over Cameroon. Despite some players' unfamiliarity with the NFF's campaign, the team is determined to reclaim the continental crown.

Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu has reaffirmed the team’s ambitious goal, declaring that "Mission X", winning the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), is indeed possible following Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Cameroon in a friendly.

The initiative is the campaign of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the Super Falcons’ quest to win a historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.

But ahead of the match in Abeokuta, some players admitted to Pulse Sports Nigeria that they were unfamiliar with the term "Mission X."

Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and forward Rinsola Babajide stated that they were not aware of the phrase during a media chat in Ijebu Ode.

Despite this, the Falcons showed no signs of hesitation, braving heavy rain to dominate their rivals, the Indomitable Lionesses, and secure a deserved win.

Speaking to the media after the game, Coach Madugu confidently emphasised the team’s clear objective.

“It’s possible, possible, possible,” he stated. “The mission is clear. We’re going for the title. Nothing less,” he added in a message shared on the team’s social media platforms.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons, the most successful team in WAFCON history, are determined to reclaim their continental crown after South Africa lifted the last tournament in Morocco.

With the 2025 WAFCON just around the corner, the Falcons are focused on making it a record-extending 10th title.

Coach Madugu’s words have injected fresh belief and motivation into the squad as they prepare to challenge for African football’s most prestigious women’s tournament next month.
