With his contract at Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr set to expire at the end of June 2025, Ronaldo’s future at the club level remains unclear.
“It’s almost decided that I will not take part at the FIFA Club World Cup despite receiving many invitations and proposals. There have been talks, contacts… but you have to think about short, medium, and long term,” Ronaldo affirmed, emphasizing his reluctance to make a short-term move solely for the tournament. He added,
“Some teams reached out to me. Some made sense, and others did not. But you can't try and do everything, you can't catch every ball.”
Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca and Brazilian clubs Palmeiras, Botafogo, Flamengo, and Fluminense are believed to have approached Ronaldo about playing for them in the Club World Cup.
Ronaldo's club future remains unclear. He posted "this chapter is over" on social media following Al Nassr's final league game of the season in May.
However, according to reports, CR7 is locked in talks to extend his Al Nassr contract despite the club's failure to qualify for the Asian Champions League.
