Nigerian Beach soccer legend Abu Azeez has left the NPFL for Bangladesh Premier League and he raves about the vastly improved welfare he is enjoying.
Nigerian footballer and Beach Soccer legend Abu Azeez has revealed he is in the ‘chasing the bag’ moment of his career after toiling for years in the NPFL, a league notorious for inconsistencies in player salary payments.
Abu Azeez played across seven different clubs in the Nigerian league from 2013 until 2023 and moonlights as a beach soccer player for the country, with several medals to his name, but according to the forward, he is only just reaping the financial rewards of football after completing a move to Bangladeshi side Chittagong Abahani.

What Abu Azeez said
According to TransferMarkt, the forward left NFPL side Warri Wolves for Chittagong Abahani in the Bangladesh Premier League in October, and per Abu Azeez, less than two months in, he is having the time of his life, as, unlike Nigerian football clubs, his salaries are paid, and on time.
"I am now playing for the money,” Abu Azeez told LagosTalks913 per Latifat Adebayo-Ohio.
