'I would buy him' — Rio Ferdinand urges Arteta to bring Super Eagles star to Arsenal
Rio Ferdinand has urged Arsenal to make a move for Nigerian goal-machine Victor Osimhen to reignite their title hopes.
Arsenal’s lack of firepower upfront has been apparent again this season with Mikel Arteta's men often relying on set-pieces to break opponents down.
They are currently third in the Premier League standings behind Liverpool and Chelsea.
"Now, Arsenal dont have a number nine that's coming on impacting games," Ferdinand told Football Transfers.
"But I don't even think you've got to buy an Osimhen, although I would buy Osimhen. You've got to buy someone who can come in and impact games."
Osimhen, who is on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, may not be available in the January transfer window but a summer move in 2025 could be a more realistic possibility.
As one of Europe's most lethal forwards, Osimhen would undoubtedly strengthen Arsenal's attack and provide a significant boost to their title ambitions.
The Gunners take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this weekend, looking to keep pace with Liverpool and Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.
