New Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold has insisted he “made the right decision” leaving Liverpool after debuting against Al Hilal in the Club World Cup on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old shocked Liverpool fans by joining their European rivals last month, with Real Madrid paying £8m to secure him for the tournament.

He surprised many at his unveiling by answering questions in fluent Spanish, which he said took “a few months” to learn.

“It’s the first time I’ve moved clubs so I didn’t know what to expect. I had no expectations coming into this,” he said.
