Former Super Eagles skipper, John Mikel Obi, has surprisingly spoken about the potential future of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen.

The former Chelsea midfielder has made it apparent that he wants the Napoli loanee to join his former side, as he yearns for a Drogba-esque striker in Chelsea’s attack.

Osimhen has emerged as a highly coveted forward across European football, with the likes of Chelsea, PSG, Arsenal and Barcelona looking to sign him.

The Super Eagles star has been in fine form since joining Galatasaray on loan during the summer transfer window.

With 31 goals across all competitions for Okan Buruk's team, Osimhen's prolific scoring record has attracted interest from numerous clubs.

Speaking on Bein Sports, he said, “He wants to play for Chelsea. I hope he’ll be playing his football next season somewhere in the Premier League. I hope he comes.

“I know where we stopped with the contract. I know where we are. It’s an easy fix because we’ve done all the hard work last summer.

“It’s just easy to pick it up and ask if the deal is okay. I don’t specifically know where he’ll be playing next season, but we’ll wait and see.

“If the Chelsea deal doesn’t happen, Manchester United could well be in the frame, or Arsenal. If United don’t make European football, then he doesn’t go there.”

Chelsea still have the opportunity to conclude their season positively by securing a top-four finish in the Premier League and winning the UEFA Conference League.
