Mourinho's relationship with the club president isn't particularly strong. He was recently angry with Koc due to the club's slow movement in the transfer market and the lack of coordination among decision-makers.
According to "Goal", Mourinho recently had a less than amicable exchange with the president, criticizing the club's "chaotic transfer policy." Specifically, he wanted new signings finalized in time for the team's training camp in Portugal.
What Fenerbahce president said about Mourinho
Following press reports from GSP detailing alleged evenings spent with coach Jose Mourinho involving copious amounts of alcohol, President Ali Koc faced criticism from his predecessor, Aziz Yildirim, at the Annual General Meeting.
"If you said here everything you told me privately about Mourinho, you wouldn't look good. Don't make me talk!" Yildirim challenged in front of the attendees. Koc immediately retorted: "Say what you want. I have nothing to hide."
He then stepped forward to explain the situation himself. "José Mourinho is the most boring person in the world, outside of football. He only talks about football. And he doesn't even drink," Koc revealed.
Most importantly, the permanent transfer of Milan Skriniar from PSG. He also wanted two wingers before the start of Champions League qualifying on August 5th. Instead of focusing on the coach's requests, Koc prioritised Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Cristi Chivu's midfielder at Inter Milan, without consulting Mourinho first. And he failed!
Çalhanoğlu ultimately stayed at Inter, Skriniar's transfer remains unresolved, and there's no concrete news regarding the wingers Mourinho requested.
