We'll see what happens, but when I heard it from a prominent figure in Nigeria, I was very happy.”

The comments come as speculation about Osimhen's exit from Galatasaray next summer heats up, with several top European clubs keeping a close eye on him.

Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals, and became a fan favourite in Istanbul, prompting Galatasaray to complete a permanent €75m deal, a league and club record.

He has kept scoring and creating this season, but many feel a player of his level is too good to stay in Turkey long-term

Chelsea, PSG, and especially Real Madrid are all strongly linked to the Nigerian.

A move to Real Madrid could be perfect for Osimhen, as he is reportedly seen as a possible central striker option, especially with Vinícius Júnior yet to sign a new contract and reportedly not on the best terms with head coach Xabi Alonso.

Bringing in Osimhen would also let Kylian Mbappé return to his preferred left-wing role, forming one of the best partnerships in world football.
