The Frenchman's comments come amid Liverpool's strong start to the season, though he suggests the squad could still be strengthened.

"I believe Liverpool is a bit short on the bench offensively, so it could be a good signing," N'Gog added, implying that while the starting eleven is formidable, depth is a concern.

Isak, who joined Newcastle for a club-record fee in 2022, has been a sensation at St. James' Park.

His impressive goal-scoring record and dynamic play have made him one of the most sought-after forwards in the Premier League.

However, N'Gog acknowledged that a potential move would hinge on how Isak would fit alongside Liverpool’s new French talent, Hugo Ekitiké.

"The only factor is that he plays in the same position as Hugo Ekitiké, who is doing well so far," N'Gog noted.

"However, Liverpool can use both, as the season is long."

While advocating for Isak, N'Gog also had high praise for Ekitiké, the young French forward who has already made an immediate impact at Anfield, scoring two goals in his first two games for the reigning champions.

"Ekitiké is a great talent from France. He showed his talent at Reims, had a slightly more difficult time in Paris, but was still okay, and then in the Bundesliga, he made a huge impact," said N'Gog.

"He is doing well for Liverpool – a lot of mobility, good with the ball, and a good finisher. He can improve his physicality, but that will come," N'Gog added, backing the 21-year-old to become an even greater force as he matures.

"Arsenal is one of the top teams in Europe at the moment and is very ambitious. They have won their first two games as well and have built a team to win the Premier League."

Despite Arsenal’s formidable form, N'Gog believes Liverpool holds a crucial advantage. "I think that Liverpool, playing at home, has a slight advantage," he said.

"Also, they won the Premier League last season, so they can build on that. Arsenal still has everything to prove, so it will be a very interesting game."

Ending on a confident note, N'Gog made his prediction for the thriller: "My score prediction will be 2-1 to Liverpool. I am not being partial, but I believe Liverpool can win."

Liverpool will look to continue their bright start to the season when they play hosts to early title favourite Arsenal.

Both teams have picked up maximum points in their first two matches so far, with another three points up for grabs at Anfield on August 31.
