Kenya's national men's soccer team, the Harambee Stars, has fallen in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

The Kenya national men's football team, Harambee Stars, has experienced a setback in the latest FIFA World Rankings, dropping four places to 109th globally.

This unexpected decline comes on the heels of a significant victory over Qatar but was largely influenced by their 1-0 loss to South Sudan in an international friendly match that took place on Tuesday, September 12 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

The roller coaster ride in the rankings has left the Harambee Stars now sitting at 25th place in Africa, although they continue to hold their ground as the second-best team in the CECAFA region.

Kenya's plummet in the rankings can be attributed to the unfortunate loss to South Sudan, which saw the team's FIFA rating decrease by -6.93 points.

This drop came as a surprise, especially considering their previous performance against Qatar just days earlier. In that thrilling international friendly on Thursday, September 7 in Doha, the Harambee Stars secured a remarkable 2-1 victory over the Qatari national team.

In the broader African context, Morocco maintains its position as the top-ranked team on the continent. Following closely behind are Senegal and Tunisia, rounding out the leading three countries in Africa.

The global rankings continue to be dominated by Argentina, who retains the coveted top spot. Not far behind are football powerhouses such as France, Brazil, England, and Belgium, completing the top five positions worldwide.
