Azam TV readies for an electrifying FKF Premier League debut, leaving fans eager for the grand kick-off, promising unmatched football action.

Azam TV is set to make its long-awaited debut in the FKF Premier League with none other than the electrifying Mashemeji Derby between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia on October 7th.

This news comes after months of anticipation and speculation surrounding the Tanzanian broadcaster's readiness to showcase Kenyan football to the world.

Despite unveiling a staggering $9.1 million (Sh1.3 billion) seven-year deal to televise FKF Premier League games on August 31, 2023, Azam TV has yet to broadcast a single match.

This delay had raised eyebrows and fueled conjecture about the network's commitment to the partnership.

Addressing these concerns, Azam Country manager Martin Abuya assured fans and stakeholders that the delay was due to the meticulous preparation required to provide a top-notch viewing experience.

"The deal is still in place, and we will pay the broadcast rights amount to FKF according to the amount we declared at the launch," said Abuya as per Nairobi News.Though we had planned to start televising the matches last weekend (September 20, 2023), there are still details we are finalizing. We'll tentatively start next month."

Azam TV's meticulous approach to launching their coverage promises viewers an unparalleled football experience.

The company is diligently setting up the necessary infrastructure, including state-of-the-art equipment, to ensure that fans can enjoy every moment of the action in high definition.

The choice of the Mashemeji Derby as the debut match adds to the excitement as this storied rivalry between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia has always been a spectacle to behold.
