The records keep falling for Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal, who surpassed Lionel Messi and Pedri to reach a new milestone

Teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal has made Barcelona history after becoming the youngest player in the club’s history to make 50 appearances in all competitions.

Yamal reaches 50 Barcelona matches

The youngster made his 50th appearance in all competitions for Barcelona in the penultimate match of the 2023/24 season against Rayo Vallecano, marking the occasion with his 10th assist of the current campaign.

After making his debut in the 2022/23 season, Yamal has made an additional 49 appearances this season to reach the magical number of 50 games played for Barcelona in all competitions.

Yamal beats Messi, Pedri to 50 appearances

At the age of 16 years 10 months and 6 days, Yamal became the youngest player to reach the milestone for Barcelona by more than a year, beating Bojan Krkic’s record of 18 years and three days.

Third on the list is Yamal’s current teammate Pedri Gonzales, who made 52 appearances in his first season with the club aged 18 years five months and three days.

Although he was a teenage prodigy as well, club legend Lionel Messi was only able to clock 50 appearances well after his 19th birthday, more than two years later than Yamal.
