Man United and Arsenal learn release clause for alternative to Osimhen

Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly on the prowl, as Leipzig agree a release clause for Benjamin Sesko.

Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United are both in the market for a striker, and with the heavy price tag on top target Victor Osimhen, both clubs are said to be evaluating alternatives.

Leipzig 20-year-old Benjamin Sesko is on such alternative both clubs are said to be monitoring, and according to a report, his release clause has now been confirmed. 

Sesko’s release clause 

According to Sky Sports’ Philip Hinze, per Goal, Leipzig have reached an agreement for a €65 million release clause on Sesko’s contract.

Manchester United and Arsenal are keenly interested and the former could have initiated talks as Sesko’s agent Elvis Basanovic was spotted at Old Trafford during the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

However, they could face opposition from the German side, as Leipzig are reportedly interested in losing Sesko this summer, and they could remove the stated release clause from his contract. 

The Slovenian striker has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season, 14 of which came in 31 Bundesliga games, a slight dip from the 16 he scored in 30 league matches last term.
