Haaland or Messi? Man City boss Guardiola crowns 'most incredible striker in history'

Who is the most incredible striker in football history? You would be forgiven for thinking Erling Haaland. After all, the Manchester City striker has now scored 94 goals in 101 games for City, and is well on his way to winning another Golden Boot.

The 24-year-old scored a stellar hat-trick to help the champions demolish Ipswich 4-1, and all three goals showcased his dynamic goalscoring abilities.

There have been many great goalscorers in history but Haaland is quickly setting himself apart as one of the most natural finishers ever.

In the aftermath of City's dominant win, manager Pep Guardiola was asked specifically about Haaland's incredible finishing, suggesting the Norwegian could be the most complete striker the game has ever seen.

Guardiola replied: "The most incredible centre forward I have ever seen is Messi. I never saw something like that."

Guardiola coached Messi at Barcelona between 2008 and 2012, winning 14 titles, including three LaLiga trophies, two Champions League, and two FIFA Club World Cups.

The Argentine now plays for Inter Miami in the MLS.
