Sevilla claimed only their second win in nine LaLiga games against 10-man Getafe

Super Eagles stars Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke were involved in different capacities as Sevilla claimed a 1-0 win away to a dogged Getafe side.

Adams started, and played 89 minutes while Ejuke came on as a half-time substitute as Sevilla edged Getafe in a tense, physical encounter marked by an early red card and late drama.

Getafe vs Sevilla: How it happened

The opening half-hour produced few clear chances but plenty of aggression, with Getafe’s Djené dismissed in the 25th minute for a reckless lunge on Gabriel Suazo. Juan Iglesias was also booked for dissent as the hosts’ frustrations grew.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Sevilla struggled to create meaningful openings before half-time, coming closest when Tanguy Nianzou headed narrowly wide from a Suazo free-kick.

Getafe attempted to disrupt the rhythm after the break, but Sevilla gradually asserted control. The introduction of Adnan Januzaj proved decisive.

After José Ángel Carmona went close from a corner, Sevilla broke through moments later. Januzaj found space on the right and delivered into the box, where a clever backheel from Adams set up Djibril Sow to finish calmly past David Soria.

Sevilla nearly doubled their lead when Chidera Ejuke burst past Domingos Duarte but fired into the side netting. Getafe mounted late pressure, with Odysseas Vlachodimos producing a crucial save to deny Martín Satriano.

Despite eight nervy minutes of stoppage time, Sevilla held on for a valuable away win that lifts them above Getafe, though neither side looks a convincing top-six contender.
