Fulham Star and Jay-Jay Okocha’s nephew becomes first Nigerian to reach monumental milestone, capping a decade of durability in England's top flight.
The Super Eagles star then continued from where he left off last week, as he made his 301st appearance in the Premier League, making him the fifth African to play more than 300 games in the competition’s history.
Iwobi is now five games away from surpassing Ghana’s Jordan Ayew as the fourth African player with the most appearances in the Premier League.
As for his performance in the game, Iwobi made two accurate crosses and completed 42 of his 51 attempted passes in the opposition half before he was taken off for Adama Traore in the 89th minute.
Meanwhile, his countrymen, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze, also featured for the Cottagers, with the former playing the full 90 minutes, while Chukwueze came on in the 77th minute.
Bassey was immense at the back for Silva’s men as strikes from Ryan Sessegnon (9’), Harry Wilson (62’) and an own goal from Yerson Mosquera (75’) ensured that the home side returned to winning ways.
