Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Fenerbahce after a disastrous Champions League campaign, with the Special One facing yet another humiliating exit.

Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Fenerbahce following a disastrous Champions League campaign, marking yet another humiliating exit for the Portuguese coach.

The shocking development comes after the Tukish Super Lig giants failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage in mid-week.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano broke the news on his social media, confirming that Mourinho will not continue as head coach of the Super Lig giants.

The dismissal comes in the wake of Fenerbahce’s crushing defeat to Portuguese powerhouse Benfica in their decisive Champions League qualifier.

Fenerbahce’s hopes of competing in Europe’s elite competition were dashed when Benfica secured a narrow 1-0 victory in Lisbon.

The only goal arrived in the 35th minute from Kerem Akturkoglu, who expertly finished a precise cross by Leandro Barreiro, curling the ball high into the net.

With the defeat, Fenerbahce dropped to UEFA’s second-tier competition, the Europa League, after their ambitions in the Champions League ended prematurely.

As the group stages of the Champions League commence, following the draw, Benfica moves forward with hopes of navigating past major contenders to progress into the tournament’s latter rounds.

The end of Mourinho’s tenure at Fenerbahce marks a fresh chapter for both the club and the coach, as the Super Lig side now focus on rebuilding after their European setback.

Mourinho’s legacy of tough exits continues, adding to the pressure he faces in his next managerial role. The enigmatic Portuguese leaves Fenerbahce after finishing second last season to bitter rivals Galatasaray.
