FA Cup: Oga Boys of Lagos Ikorodu City reaffirm dominance with back-to-back victory

Ikorodu City defeated Inter Lagos to retain their crown as FA Cup champions in the Centre of Excellence.

In a display of sheer dominance, the "Oga Boys" of Ikorodu City have once again proven their mettle as the undisputed kings of Lagos football.

The team retained their Lagos State FA Cup title with a commanding 2-0 victory over a gallant Inter Lagos side at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Stadium, on Sunday.

Ikorodu City reign supreme in Lagos Again

The match was a true spectacle of Lagos football at its finest, with both teams showcasing their skills and determination.

Ikorodu City, the reigning champions, came out swinging, and it was Harrison Austin who opened the scoring with a delightful strike in the 39th minute, sending the Ikorodu faithful into a frenzy.

Not content with a single-goal lead, the Oga Boys continued to press, and Tosin sealed the deal with a controversial penalty just before the hour mark, much to the dismay of the Inter Lagos supporters.

Despite a spirited fightback from the underdogs, who were denied two penalty claims, Ikorodu City held on to their lead, cementing their status as the kings of Lagos football.

Both Ikorodu City and Inter Lagos will now represent Lagos State in the prestigious Federation Cup, where they will undoubtedly showcase the vibrant and competitive nature of Lagos football.

For the Oga Boys of Ikorodu City and Inter Lagos, it’s now time to switch attention to defend the reputation of the Centre of Excellence at the national stage.
