Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe might be forced to sacrifice someone close to him in order to seal his dream move to Real Madrid

French superstar Kylian Mbappe is facing a uniquely tough decision in order to seal a move to Real Madrid, as the Paris Saint-Germain forward could be forced to part ways with his current agent.

Mbappe’s Real Madrid move in danger

Mbappe has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital for some time now, with rumours of a switch intensifying after the Frenchman made it clear to PSG that he would not renew his current contract, which expires at the end of the current season.

The pathway for a move to Real Madrid appears to be clear as Mbappe would be able to negotiate with clubs as a free agent starting in January, but a new stumbling block for the move has appeared that could require the France national team captain to severe ties with his current agent.

The biggest problem with this is that Mbappe’s current agent is his mother, Fayza Lamari, who has represented the PSG talisman since he was a teenager.

Why Mbappe might be forced to sack his mother

Mbappe’s situation is rooted in FIFA’s new agency laws, which require all representatives of players during transfers to be licenced with world football’s governing body.

Unfortunately, Lamari does not possess such a licence and will be unable to get one until at least 2024, meaning that if Mbappe is to make the switch to Real Madrid soon, Spanish outlet Marca has suggested that he would be unable to wait for his mother to complete the necessary formalities.

The only alternative to this is to exploit a loophole in the law, which has allowed teams in England and Germany to sign players who are not represented by official agents.

If Real Madrid are unable to find an escape plan for Mbappe and the striker is unwilling to find a new agent, he might be forced to make a move to the Premier League or the Bundesliga which will allow his mother to continue representing him.
