The NFF were on the verge of appointing a new manager a few weeks ago, but the negotiation broke down, leading to Augustine Eguavoen's appointment for the umpteenth time.

During an interview with Football Fans Tribe, Boniface said, “The truth is even if we bring Guardiola, Nigerians will still have something to say, but I’m a type of person that doesn’t care about what people think, because we’re they’re not here with the team.

“Our job is to give it all on the pitch, and that’s it. It’s life. People will always criticize. So, no matter which coach you bring, people always have something to say.”
