Ruben Amorim's Manchester United secured their first win in 10 Premier League games, and while it was inconsequential for the hosts, it ended Aston Villa's hopes of making the top 5.

Ruben Amorim’s side came out swinging, with Mason Mount testing Emiliano Martínez twice early on—first with a shot saved after Noussair Mazraoui’s cutback, then a header straight at the Villa keeper.

Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo also had chances, but United’s rhythm took a hit when Mazraoui went off injured. Diogo Dalot, his replacement, rattled the post, though Rasmus Højlund and Ayden Heaven couldn’t sort their feet out for the rebound. Højlund pounced on an awful backpass from Matty Cash to draw a foul from Martínez, who saw red.

After the break, United kept pressing, and Fernandes’ perfect cross found Amad, who nodded home.

Late on, Ian Maatsen’s clumsy foul on Amad gifted United a penalty, and Christian Eriksen, in his last game for the club, slotted it home to seal the win.
