Bukayo Saka took a trip to Nigeria a few days after the Premier League season ended and decided to visit a town called Bariga in Lagos.

The English footballer landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday and is currently taking a tour around the city.

The Arsenal winger who has had a remarkable season with the Gunners and almost led them to their first title in 20 years has been trending since he arrived in Nigeria.

According to reports from Pulse Sports, Saka visited Bariga where his family grew up during his visit to Lagos.

Saka’s visit to Nigeria and his parents' previous town before leaving for the UK has sparked a lot of conversations and we take a look at three reasons why he chose to visit Bariga.

1. Saka’s family grew up in Bariga

The Arsenal superstar has been in Lagos State since Wednesday and has decided to visit Bariga where his parents grew up.

Saka also spent some years in Bariga before moving with his parents to London and the Nigerian-born did not forget where his parents once lived.

The English forward’s visit was not based on just taking a tour around Lagos but wanted to make sure he visited where he lived with his parents in Nigeria.

2. Saka wants to feel what his parents felt

According to Premiumtimes, Saka visited Bariga which is a commercial town, one of the ghetto parts of Nigeria where his parents once lived before migrating to London.

His parents left Nigeria for London as economic immigrants and have since then made a living for themselves with Saka developing into one of the best wingers in the world.

The 21-year-old has decided to visit the town where his parents grew up and seek the opportunity to feel what his parents felt during the years they spent in Bariga.

3. Saka donates to an orphanage in Bariga

One thing Saka does is give to the needy and support child development and he has done the same during his visit to Nigeria.

According to Pulse Sports, the Arsenal player covered 120 kids' medical expenses for surgery in Kano last year.

This year, during his visit to Nigeria, Saka decided to help the community of Bariga by donating to one of the orphanages and the children.

He passed through Bales of Mercy Orphanage, Bariga, where abandoned and destitute children find comfort and solace.
