Ancelotti has revealed his plans with the Brazilian national football team.
Days after leaving Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti is already brimming with energy in his new role as head coach of the Brazilian national team.
The veteran manager is driven to win another World Cup title, and to achieve this, he plans to have the "Seleção" play similarly to the giants from the Bernabéu.
In a special interview with Marca, Ancelotti revealed that Brazil is the best national team in the world, adding that his challenge is to win the sixth World Cup for the Selecao.
"It's the best national team in the world. I'm not saying it, the five stars on their jersey do. No other national team is on their level. Now, my challenge is to win a sixth star."
He continued, "The team there is currently led by a friend of mine – Spalletti, an excellent coach. Besides, they didn't approach me, unlike Brazil, who did a long time ago. Circumstances aligned, and now is the time. I fully accept the task of bringing the sixth World Cup to Brazil. But to do that, we'll need the entire country behind us."
The former Real Madrid coach confirmed that elimination from the Champions League led to his departure from the Spanish giant.
"I've always told the truth. My priority has always been Real Madrid. During the first contact, the club offered me a contract extension, and I didn't even hesitate. I always said I'd stay at Real as long as I could."
"The results weren't what we expected. The style of play wasn't at the required level either. It was time to do something. After the Champions League exit to Manchester City we discussed it and made a decision. It was clear that something wasn't right, and we all understood that it was better for Real to take a new path, and for me to go to Brazil," he added.
"Of course. In today's football, it's increasingly important for the team to be like a family. Real has always been an example of this. Every team goes through good and bad times. I always believed we'd overcome the difficulties. You always try."
"Yes. I've always had the desire. Brazil needs to be behind the team – the players need to feel supported, be humble, and united. Without humility, it won't happen. The World Cup is something completely different. It's a feeling that an entire country stands behind. That's why it has always attracted me. I arrive with the mission to make Brazil champions again. I'm convinced we can."
