The deal surpasses the previous record of €19.5 million paid by Fenerbahçe for Youssef En-Nesyri in 2024, underlining Galatasaray's ambitious push to compete at the highest level, including the UEFA Champions League.
The 26-year-old Nigerian striker, who showed his incredible talent during a loan spell at Galatasaray last season, now has a permanent home in Istanbul.
His impact during the 2024-25 season was undeniable, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 matches, helping the club secure both the Super Lig and Turkish Cup titles.
Osimhen’s performances made him a fan favourite, and there was an overwhelming chorus of supporters demanding his return.
Following his unveiling, Osimhen shared pictures on social media, celebrating his new chapter. In response, Boniface commented on his Instagram post, writing “Let’s run it back,” before sharing a story with the message “Yes, broski,” reflecting his excitement and support.
The transfer negotiations with Napoli were intense, with the Italian club’s president reportedly insisting on the full release clause.
Ultimately, Galatasaray agreed to pay €40 million upfront, with an additional €35 million in installments by 2026, along with up to €5 million in goal-related bonuses.
Napoli also got for themselves a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfers above €75 million and restrictions on Osimhen joining another Serie A club until July 2027.
All financial paperwork has now been completed, and Osimhen has put pen to paper on a four-year contract worth between €16 million and €18 million per season, one of the highest salaries in the history of the Süper Lig.
This landmark move highlights not only Osimhen’s star power but also Galatasaray’s bold ambition, fully backed by their excited fans, who were clear that they wanted the Nigerian star to make Rams Park his new home.
