More players from Barcelona's list of targets for the left wing option have been revealed.

Barcelona have reportedly identified Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli as a backup option in their pursuit of Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz.

Barcelona in the winger market

The Blaugrana have made it clear they want to sign a left winger this summer after failing to sign either of their targets—Rafael Leao and Nico Williams—last summer.

Barcelona's sporting director, Deco, admitted that the club were interested in Rashford and Diaz, with the Colombian reportedly being the first choice.

“Talking about players who have contracts with other clubs is complicated out of respect,” Deco said. “We like Luis [Diaz], we like [Marcus] Rashford, and we like other players. When we go to the market, there are names that we know and that could improve the team.”

However, they seem to have been priced out of the Diaz deal, with Liverpool demanding €85 million and Saudi Arabian clubs also showing interest. For Rashford, Barcelona are hoping to negotiate for less than the €40 million price tag.

Martinelli emerges as an option

According to a report from the Spanish publication Sport, the Arsenal winger, Martinelli, is one of the options Deco alluded to in his statement.

Per the report, Barcelona will make a serious move for Martinelli or Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman should they fail to land Rashford or Diaz.

While Martinelli has a contract until 2027, with an option to extend for a further year, Arsenal are reportedly open to selling him and will listen to reasonable offers.
