Barcelona defeat Getafe, continue winning streak without star player Yamal
The last season's league champions came into the game brimming with confidence following their victory away from home in the UEFA Champions League.
They now move two points behind leaders Real Madrid following their 3-0 victory over Getafe on Sunday night.
As it happened
Barcelona were without one of their star players, Lamine Yamal, for the game after he picked up an injury. The Spanish winger has now missed two games, including their 2-1 victory in the Champions League against Newcastle.
Within the first 30 minutes of the game, the home team scored two goals courtesy of Ferran Torres to put Barcelona in a good position in the game and took the lead into half time.
In the second half, the home team continued their dominant display and Dani Olmo added the third goal to seal the victory.
Barcelona maintained control until the final whistle, with the win extending their winning streak to three games on the bounce and closing the gap on the league table to two points.
