What Dembele said
Dembele is unmistakably the leader of this PSG side, taking on the mantle of the goals that Kylian Mbappe used to guarantee, with 32 already this season.
In the pre-match press conference of the second leg, the former Barcelona man was asked if Luis Enrique’s PSG is the best team he has played for. He acknowledged that he was having a great period in his career but was quick to remind the journalist that he would be uncomfortable tagging this as the best team he played on, as he lined up alongside Lionel Messi at Barcelona.
“I don't know if this PSG is the best team I've played for, because I played at Barça with Lionel Messi, who for me is the greatest player of all time. But it's one of the teams where I have the most fun.”
With those comments, Dembele becomes the latest player to pick a side in the age-old GOAT debate between Messi and his footballing rival, Ronaldo.
