La Dea have already lost their top scorer from last season, Mateo Retegui, to the Saudi Pro League. They are now set to lose their second top scorer, Lookman and are preparing a move for a Fulham and a Crystal Palace striker to fill the void.
According to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, the 2024 Europa League champions have shortlisted the duo of Jean-Phillipe Mateta and Rodrigo Muniz, as they are keen on restocking on forwards.
They have been plotting a move for Mateta since they lost Retegui and view the 28-year-old market valuation of €30 million as attainable. The chase for Muniz, however, is more recent, as the reality of losing Lookman looms.
Lookman on strike
The Super Eagles striker has already agreed on personal terms with Inter and is keen on joining the Nerazzurri. However, Atalanta are insisting on a €50 million fee, with Inter bidding €45 million.
The Nigerian striker took to social media to air his grievances and announce that he has handed in a transfer request. He accused the club of reneging on their promise to sell him for a certain fee and subsequently went on strike, having now missed five days of training camp.
