Ashleigh Plumptre is among a number of Super Falcons stars enjoying huge boosts on their social media accounts.

Super Falcons of Nigeria defender Ashleigh Plumptre is among the latest soccer stars to enjoy a huge boost in their social media following.

Plumptre who last played for Leicester City impressed greatly for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The 26-year-old centre-back started every game for Randy Waldrum’s team as the African giants progressed out of the group stages, before getting knocked out by eventual finalists, England.

Plumptre has since earned plaudits for her dedication, commitment and performances for Nigeria on the big stage and as such, has seen her social media presence grow sporadically in the last couple of weeks.

Fan-favourite Michelle Alozie, one of the most beautiful Nigerian female footballers, saw her Instagram followers grow by more than 170,000 followers - the most among all members of Nigeria’s World Cup squad.

Ashleigh Plumptre is also not left out as the England-born defender has now seen her Instagram account grow by impressive 50,000 followers since last month.

Plumptre is also amongst the most followed Super Falcons players on the popular social media platform.

Pulse Sports reported that Asisat Oshoala recorded a major milestone - becoming the first African female athlete to reach 1 million followers on Instagram.

Rasheedat Ajibade, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and Toni Payne - all of whom impressed at the World Cup also saw huge growth in their social media following in recent weeks.
